O Panneerselvam has been chosen to be Tamil Nadu’s new chief minister by the ADMK officials today.
The meeting in Chennai comes after conviction of J Jayalalithaa in the Rs. 66 crore disproportionate assets case on Saturday, leading to her disqualification as MLA.
This is the second time Panneerselvam is finding himself as Chief Minister, in a replay of almost exactly the same circumstances 10 years ago when Jayalalithaa was jailed for the first time. OPS, as he is fondly called, was chief minister for a brief period in 2000. He was currently in the finance minister post .
