After Drishyam and Bangalore Days, Premam rocks Mollywood

Premam Drishyam Bangalore days

Malayalam cinema is known for its Pioneer directors, who laid the path for alternative and art cinema in the past. The directors like Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Girish Kasaravalli and many legendary screenplay writers adorned Mollywood in its golden era. But for quite some years, there was a dearth of blockbuster hits along with the lack of quality award winning films. But with the influx of youngsters and calculated risk by its iconic actors has brought the Malayalam cinema back to its form.

There weren’t huge hits for past many months in Mollywood and now Premem is rocking like never before. Distributors are excited that they saw similar foot falls in the theatre way back in 2000 for Mohanlal starring Narasimhan only. Previously, Drishyam and Banglore Days rejuvenated Mollywood some time back. Apart from the huge box office collection, it is the success of these films outside traditional Kerala market which makes this success special. Malayalam stars and stories are not getting known throughout India with these huge hits.

Drishyam is now Papanasam and is going to hit theatre July, Bangalore Days is also getting remaked in both Tamil and Telugu. Previously Siddique’s Bodyguard got its remake rights sold for the record price. Now it’s the turn of Premam to showcase the talent of Mollywood to the India and world.

If you haven’t watched Premam, do watch in theatres and you definitely wouldn’t regret going! It’s all set to become the all-time highest grosser of Mollywood.
