Jayalalitha Jailed for 4 Years & Barred from Election for Next 6 Years

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been sentenced to four years in jail after a Bangalore court found her guilty of corruption on Saturday. Along with the 4 years of jailing , she has  also slapped a fine of Rs 100 crore on her in a disproportionate assets case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The others convicts have also been given a jail term of four years and along with a fine of Rs 10 crore each.

She cannot contest elections for the next 10 years as she has been barred from trying her electoral fortune for six years after the end of her jail term.

As its weekend and next week is also filled with holidays at Karnataka state , Jayalalitha and others needs to wait for about 10 days for applying bail .
